MYSTERY OF LIFE-3: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE DIE?
MYSTERY OF LIFE-3: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE DIE?
Dear Friends,
Today, I want to talk you about
humanity’s ever asking third most important question on life that relates to
the mysteries of life after death i.e. what happens when we die.
What happens when we die?
When the true we i.e. our soul
leaves our body [our soul’s temporary shelter] that is called death. Then, our
physical body merges back to the five elements of nature of which our physical
[material] body is made up of viz fire, air, water, earth & space. Our body
was alive because of the presence of true we i.e. our soul inside of our body.
If we were to identify
ourselves with our physical body, then, what will happen when we die?
We are no more when the body is
no more!
But, that’s not the case.
Where does the soul go after
our physical body dies?
When our body dies, our soul
enters another body that is just to start evolving [the new body won’t start
evolving until the soul goes in there] or remain as the soul [spirit] as it is,
without entering any new body for some time, until a suitable new body is found
for the next life.
Our next life is determined by
our karma [activities] in the present life.
We may come back to this same
earth planet or go to a higher or lower planet of this galaxy or another
galaxy; we may be reborn again as a better or worse human being or even as
animal or insect or a tree or a plant; all that as the result of our actions
[karmas] while we were alive in the present life!
So, if people understand these
spiritual consequences about the afterlife, all sane people ought to do good
karmas only for the progressive journey of our soul.
Doing good karmas is, not only
good for the next life, but also good for the present life to enjoy the happy
existence on earth.
What becomes of us after death?
After death, we go back to the
status of our original Soul [spirit] without physical body until we are reborn
again to establish our another fresh & different physical identity in the
next birth based on our karmas [activities] while we were alive on planet
earth, we get the next body and reborn again in any suitable body our soul
chooses, among the billions of planets in this galaxy or another galaxy.
What happens to our 100 years
or so, of identity on earth, after death?
Answering this question is
something like the analogous question: am I now the same person as I was 40
years back when I was just 10 years old?
The answer is yes and no.
Yes, because we are the same
person who has just grown up and again the answer is no, because we have
changed our physical body in terms of size, personality etc.
Thus in the journey of our
soul’s experiences of various types of life, this present life experience is
just a small part of the long journey, our soul has made. It had been a history
to our Soul’s records.
However, the importance of our
present life is that our present life activities [karmas] will determine our
next life and so, it is in our own self interest that we do good karmas only in
the present life.
What happens to our close
relations of this life after death?
In this life, based on our past
karmas, we get the kind of parents, family members, wife/husband, relatives etc
that will be suitable to our quality of life. In the next life, again based on
our present life karmas, we get different set of parents, family members,
wife/husband, relatives etc.
However, all the souls in the
universe are connected just like a group of people in a drama party, they take
different roles based on the script of the particular play, but after the play
they remain as friends or acquaintances of the drama group.
Similarly, in the universal
drama of our life incarnations, depending on the play of life, we may meet
again some of our parents, family members, wife/husband, relatives etc of this
life, in the next life or we may not; but at the higher level of consciousness,
our souls do recognize each other.
Happiness for all!
